The Information Technology (IT) Department proposes and implements the Foundation's IT Master Plan and regularly monitors strategic projects in the area. It is responsible for managing the IT Policy, always aiming at optimizing and making better use of available resources. The Department reports to the Administrative Board. Other duties are:

• Identify, create and implement technology solutions to support business development and increase productivity
  
• Maintain a close relationship and integration with the IT areas of the FMUSP/HCFMUSP Complex with a focus on maximizing results and reducing costs
  
• Implement and guarantee the functioning of the infrastructure of computer equipment for the full functioning of the Institution
  
• Ensure the security of information and systems, in addition to implementing data protection solutions
  
• Define resource obsolescence criteria by scheduling the technological update necessary for the good performance of established routines
  
• Manage institutional information systems
  
• Seek and implement short and long-term process improvements, defining workflows in the system
  
• Plan and coordinate the maintenance, updating and implementation of information systems
  
• Support users in using the systems, troubleshooting and automating processes and hardware equipment
  
• Negotiate IT contracts and manage the provision of third-party services
